Happy 2012 Delano Jaycees! I am looking forward to great year and very excited to be your 2012 president. Thank you to the new 2012 Board of Directors for stepping up to these positions. The Public Relations Vice President position is still open (Newsletter and web site). If you have any interest or know someone that would be a good fit, let me know. I think we have a great group in place to keep the momentum going for the Delano Jaycees in 2012!

We still need to end 2011 right and celebrate all the accomplishments during the “Year of the Rat!” Our Year-end social will take place Sat., Jan. 14. Social is at 5:30, followed by a program at 6 p.m., and party at 7 p.m. Please RSVP by Wed., Jan. 11 to Nichole or I so we can plan accordingly. This will be an event you do not want to miss! (More details can be found on the last page of this newsletter).

Some might say the holidays are over, but there is still one holiday that isn’t quite over... Halloween! We need all hands on deck to put this holiday back in it’s coffin. On Friday, Jan. 13 (ironic date huh?) at 6 p.m. we will be meeting at the haunted house location to move all of the props over to storage. The more that come, the faster it will go!

Our next general meeting will be Tue., Jan. 27th at 6 p.m. PLEASE NOTE - the start time will be changed to 6 p.m. each month. If another time or day works better for everyone please let me know.

Also in this newsletter is information for the Minnesota State Jaycee Convention that is coming up at the end of the month. This is a great time to connect with your fellow Jaycee members. Let me know if you have any questions. A couple members have gotten rooms already and are willing to share in the costs.

Thank you again for allowing me this opportunity to serve as your president for 2012. In the words of Dori from the movie Finding Nemo “Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim.”

Delano is located about 45 minutes west of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Delano Jaycees stay active in the community by running projects, helping the citizens by donating money back to the city, parks, and school.
